Custom Homes We've Built in the Tri-Cities

This page documents six custom homes Anasazi Builders completed in Washington between 2020 and 2023. They sit in West Richland, Kennewick, Wallula, and on five-acre parcels in Benton County. Some were built on lots inside a subdivision. Others were built on raw acreage where we drilled the well and installed the septic system before framing started.

Every one of these homes belongs to a family who chose where it went, how it was laid out, and what went into it. That is the part a photograph does not show, so each project below has its own page explaining what the family wanted and how the build actually went.

John and Stephen Worlund have completed more than 250 homes and projects across Washington, Idaho, North Dakota, and Alaska. The six here are the Washington builds we have permission to show in full.

The Process

What You're Looking At

Two of these homes went up inside a subdivision, where the utilities were already at the lot line. Three went up on five-acre parcels in Benton County, where the water came from a well we drilled and the waste went into a septic system we engineered and installed. One was built on land the owners had lived on for years, after the mobile home that was there came out.

That difference changes almost everything about a build: the timeline, the sequence, the site work, and the paperwork. Permitting requirements and timelines vary depending on the jurisdiction, the characteristics of the property, and the documentation required. A lot inside a subdivision and a property that needs utilities brought in do not follow the same process, and each one gets reviewed on its own.

If you own land and you are not sure which of those two situations you are in, that is a normal first phone call for us.

Questions About These Projects

The projects on this page are in West Richland, Kennewick, Wallula, and on acreage in Benton County outside city limits. We also build in Pasco, where our office is, and in Richland, Benton City, Prosser, Burbank, and the rural parts of Franklin, Benton, and Walla Walla counties.

Both. Three of the homes here are on five-acre parcels in Benton County where we drilled the well and installed the septic system. Two others were built on lots with utilities already available. If you have land and you are not sure whether it is buildable, that is worth a phone call before you go further.

No. You can bring us plans you already have, pick one of the plans we have drawn over the years and change whatever you want, or start from a blank page with our architects. All three happen regularly.

Sometimes, yes. Several of the families we have built for have offered to let us bring people through. It depends on who is available and what they are comfortable with, so ask and we will find out.

These are the Washington projects we have photographs and permission to publish in full. We have completed more than 250 homes and projects across our careers, including work in Idaho, North Dakota, and Alaska.
